As a child, I wanted to be a fashion designer. I even dressed up as one for career day in second grade. As I got older, I felt more drawn to other fields. I learned more about the climate crisis, and for a while I wanted to study environmental science and dedicate my life to that cause, but I kept feeling drawn back to fashion. Eventually I realized that environmentalism and fashion are not separate entities. I believe clothes should absolutely be beautiful, but more importantly, they should serve another purpose. I'm interested in design that moves social issues by being sustainable, inclusive, and functional. I believe in fashion with a higher purpose.
